Find Your Halloween Boo! in Myrtle Beach

If you find yourself spending Halloween in Myrtle Beach SC this year rest assured there are plenty of local activities taking place for the holiday. Whether it’s just you and another letting your inner “Boo!” out at an Adult’s Costume Party on the Marshwalk or you’re taking the kids out for some safe trick or treating at Barefoot Landing, there’s plenty to keep you out of trouble this year!

Following are the activities taking place around the area for Halloween:

Oct. 31, 5-7 p.m., The Market Common
A good alternative to going door-to-door, bring your kids to The Market Common this year. Your kids can grab candy at participating stores around The Market Common. Enjoy free carriage rides around the complex plus music and entertainment in front of the movie theater. Your four-legged furry friends are welcome to attend, too!

Oct. 31, 4:30-6:30 p.m., Broadway at the Beach
Get dolled up and go store to store collecting treats around Broadway at the Beach. This is a great place to take the smaller children because there’s no traffic to worry about. Plus mom and dad can browse the shops and restaurants along the way. Kids 10 and under in costumes eat free from 4-7 p.m. at Hard Rock Cafe with a paying adult.

Oct. 31, 5-7 p.m., Barefoot Landing, North Myrtle Beach
Enjoy a safe and fun evening at Barefoot Landing. They’re offering free bags for the goodies plus free carousel rides. Show up early and grab some dinner before you start your journey around Barefoot Landing.

The free Howl-O-Scream event includes hayrides, pumpkin painting and marshmallow roasting in addition to the traditional trick-or-treating. The event is open to all ages and includes scary and scare-free zones.

Oct. 31, 6-8 p.m., Tanger Outlets, Both Hwy 501 and Hwy 17 locations in Myrtle Beach
Visit either Tanger Outlet Center in Myrtle Beach and trick-or-treat around the shopping outlets. Just look for the Halloween decal outside of stores to see if they’re taking place in the fun.

Your first stop in a local grocery store should be at the Customer Service desk where you apply for a store card that will save you money on your groceries while you’re in the area, no matter how many months you’re staying. You may think a month isn’t long enough to warrant it but you’ll change your mind when you see the sale prices for people that have the card.

The first chance you get, walk to the beachfront and experience a sunrise. It’s breathtaking and something you will never forget! If you have a smart phone it helps to get some apps for knowing the tide times and knowing the times of sunrise and sunset. That way you’ll know when to catch the sunrise and when the best time is to find shells. No worries though, the tide comes in and goes out twice a day.

Nothing is more important during your time on vacation than relaxing, breathing in the ocean air and enjoying everything around you. Treasure each and every day you’re here. Ever since we were children we’ve enjoyed watching fireworks. The “ooh’s” and “aah’s” that follow every explosion in the sky is as real today as it was then. It’s just something we never grow tired of. But until you’ve seen them at the beach you haven’t fully experienced all that a fireworks display can be.
