Celebrate New Year’s in Myrtle Beach

It’s hard to believe that 2020 will be coming to an end, but soon, it will be time to celebrate 2021 here on the Grand Strand. Staying with us at Myrtle Beach Resort will allow you and your family to be close to the fun. We know that 2020 has been different from previous years when it comes to vacations, but we feel that 2021 will be better. Ring in the New Year at the Boardwalk

Come and celebrate New Year’s Eve at the Boardwalk with the family this year. This will be a family-friendly outdoor event that everyone in the family will love and enjoy. Beginning at 8:00 pm head on over to the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk where you will get to listen to some live music, food and fireworks to help ring in the New Year. There will be social distancing enforced and masks should be worn when in close proximity to other people. Think of the fun your family will have as you make new memories while you ring in the new year together.

New Year’s Eve at Margaritaville

If you’re looking to grab a late dinner with the family on New Year’s Eve, then head on over to Margaritaville at Broadway at the Beach. Beginning at 6:00 pm is where your family can grab some delicious food from Margaritaville such as Seafood Mac & Cheese, Chicken Fajitas and we can’t forget the famous Cheeseburger in Paradise. There are plenty of options for the kids to choose from too which makes this restaurant a great place to eat at on this vacation. You and the family will be able to enjoy some live music, fun party favors and more. There is admission cost to enjoy the party with your family!

3 Walking Trails in Myrtle Beach to Explore

Do you and your family like to enjoy the great outdoors while on vacation? Instead of hitting the beach every single day of the week, why not explore some of the walking trails. Myrtle Beach Resort is a great place to stay as you will be close to some of the best trails in the area. Let’s look below at where you and the family can head to explore some of the walking trails in Myrtle Beach.

Myrtle Beach State Park

Have you and your family ever experienced Myrtle Beach State Park before? If you haven’t then you will be in for a surprise. There are two different trails that your family can explore within the state park. These two are the Yaupon Trail and the Sculptured Oak Trail which are both less than a mile each. Each trail is easy trails as they will be perfect for anyone who is new to hiking or someone who is an expert. Be sure to bring with you on your hike sunscreen, bugspray, a hat, and a camera. You will be able to see many local trees and many different species of birds and wildlife. What a great way to explore the state park with the family and explore these amazing trails too.

Bike & Run Park

If you’re looking for another great park that you can head to for some great walking trails is located at Bike & Run Park. This park is also known to the locals as “The Hulk” because it is located near the Intracoastal Waterway in Carolina Forest. With having 7 miles worth of trails on 70 acres of land, it’s sure to be one of the largest parks in the area. Not only can you bring your bike to ride on one of the many trails, but you can also bring the family too. We promise you that this is one park like you’ve never seen before especially here in Myrtle Beach!

Huntington Beach State Park

Huntington Beach State Park is another great location that you can go to for some great walking trails. Not only will you see plenty of wildlife, but you’ll also be able to view nature as well. Don’t miss the Sandpiper Pond Nature Trail as it has a pond and a deck that you will be able to observe egrets and herons. There is also the Kerrigan Nature Trail that offers you views of a lagoon and we can say it’s quite the view too. Be sure to bring a camera, a hat, sunscreen and plenty of energy to do with the family.

One way to make sure that your family can enjoy a fun adventure while on vacation during Labor Day would be to head over to Explore & Soar. Located at Broadway at the Beach is where you will find this amazing adventure. If you have kids who are into doing new things that require them to climb as high as they can, then this is the thing for them. Not only can you and your family do a fun outdoors ropes challenge, but they can also enjoy some over the water zip lining. What a fun adventure that everyone in the family can enjoy together and bring home new memories.

New Adventures Down the River

Go on a new adventure while you are at the beach but instead of hitting the sand and surf, head a little inland for this one. River Island Adventure is located in North Myrtle Beach about 7 miles inland from the ocean. This can be for any family looking to try something new and exciting like floating in a tube down the Waccamaw River. If that doesn’t sound like fun, then join in their own “Survivor” fun with escaping the island. This is something that the older kids will love, and you will love too because it’s something fun for everyone!

Boogie Board

For any family who comes to vacation at the beach, they are always looking for new things to do with the kids. This is a classic thing that your kids can do together or with you, boogie boarding. Head to the store where you can pick up a boogie board or two to help make this activity happen.

Bubble Blowing

Who knew that blowing bubbles on the beach could be more fun than at home? Making your own bubbles or getting a bubble wand from the local dollar store will help keep the kids entertained. Watching the bubbles blow in the wind from the ocean is always fun and never gets old. This is a kid- friendly activity especially for the younger ones who want something to do while they are having a good time.

Beach Ball Potato

Have you ever played hot potato at home? If you have then this is just like that game only you use a beach ball. Be sure to bring a small radio or your smartphone loaded up with fun kid music. Start the music and pass the beach ball around in a circle and when the music stops, the kid holding the ball is out. This game is great for everyone and can be played on the sand or indoors, whatever works best for your family.

Sand Angels

Just like snow angels that can be made in the snow, your kids can make sand angels instead. This can be a fun activity that all kids will love as it means they can get messy. Have each child lay in the sand and make a jumping jack movement on the sand to make their angels. But we must warn you that your child will have sandy hair and bodies. Good news is that there is always the ocean to rinse all that sand off afterwards. What a great memory to make while on your next family vacation!

4 Things Your Family Can Enjoy this June in Myrtle Beach

June will be here in just a few short days and that means that summer will begin soon. When you and your family stay with us at Myrtle Beach Resort you will be close to where the fun is at. Myrtle Beach Pelicans Game

Baseball season is here and it means that you and the family can head to see the Myrtle Beach Pelicans play a game or two. Happening over at the Pelicans Ballpark is where you will find the stadium to see the local team play against many of the other teams such as the Wilmington Blue Rocks, the Fayetteville Woodpeckers and more. Tickets to see the games can cost as little as $9 per person and we can promise you that there is not a bad seat in the stadium. The Pelicans also have several promotions held weekly including Half Price admission with a Backpack Buddies donation and BOGO Hebrew National hotdogs because we know you can’t see a baseball game without getting at least a hotdog to snack on. Don’t miss the fun that you can have while seeing a great game cheering on the local team.

24^th Annual Corvettes Beach Car Show

If you have someone in the family who loves cars, then this event is for you. Join in on the fun at the 24^th Annual Corvettes Beach Car Show at Broadway at the Beach this year starting on Friday, May 31^st. This is a place where even the youngest child to the oldest child at heart will be able to see some beautiful muscle cars. The car show will be two days long, but you will be able to see which car is the best and which one you wish you had. The event is free for all who would like to attend and is something that you won’t want to miss every year.

See the Light Float

For something new that your family has never done before we suggest giving the Water Lantern Festival a try this year. Held at the Grand Park at the Market Common is where you will find this fun festival for everyone of all ages. This event does cost $25 per person but we promise you that it’s something you will never forget. Happening on Saturday, June 29th from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm, is where you and the family can design your own water lantern before setting sail on the lake for a beautiful display. Along with live entertainment and food trucks it will be a night to remember.

Grand Strand Nightly Fireworks

Many families have fond memories of going on vacation to the beach each year and getting to see the nightly fireworks. Don’t wait until the 4th of July to see them as you will be able to see them beginning in June. North Myrtle Beach is where you can head over to Barefoot Landing on Monday nights at 10:00 pm to see the amazing display in the sky. A few other places that you will be able to check out for fireworks are at Broadway at the Beach and at the Myrtle Beach Pelicans games. When you first come into the Bass Pro Shops you will be able to take a picture with the Easter Bunny and receive a free photo. Your kids can do an Easter craft in the store and there will be an egg hunt in the store from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Registration for the egg hunt will begin at 1:30 pm. Don’t miss this fun event at Bass Pro Shops with the kids for a family fun day!

37^th Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Don’t miss the 37^th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at McLean Park in North Myrtle Beach is something for everyone to enjoy. Starting at 10:00 am the family can hunt for eggs throughout the park and it’s a free event to join in. Those who want to participate in the egg hunt will be divided into different age groups from infant and up. The Easter Bunny will be taking pictures with everyone and will be handing out candy to all the kids. Bring your camera to capture the moments that will happen at this event!

Let’s Go to the Fair

Come celebrate Easter at the Myrtle Beach Speedway for their 4^th Annual Horry County Fair. On Sunday, April 21^st from noon to 11:00 pm is where you and the family can enjoy a fun county fair. Admission to the event is $5 per person and children 4 & under are free. Here you and your family will be able to enjoy an Easter Service, as well as carnival rides, games and so much more. There will be a petting zoo and let’s not forget about the pig racing. And if you can’t make it to the fair on Easter, then have no fear as it will be going on until the 26^th.
