We have compiled a small list of what to pack in your beach bag for your next vacation to Myrtle Beach below.

Beach Towels

When you are on vacation making sure you have packed everything before you leave home is essential. So be sure to pack a towel for everyone in your family whether you are going to sit in the sun or swim in the ocean. Bringing an extra towel with you is always a good idea especially if you have little ones with you. Having a beach towel with a different design can help each member in your group remember which one theirs is. Sewing one corner of the towel can allow you to have a little pocket so that you can place a phone or glasses in them to keep them from the sand.

Sunscreen

With the hot, southern sun sunscreen is a must for any beach bag. Use a sunscreen that is designed for your beach activities such as waterproof, sport, high SPF, etc.). Dermatologists suggests that you use a sunscreen with at least 30 SPF while you are enjoying the sunshine. And don’t forget to Reapply throughout your day as we don’t want you to ruin your vacation the very first day your here with a sunburn. Having a bottle of aloe that you can put into the fridge will help make the sunburns cool and feel refreshing in case someone in the family does get a little too much sun one day.

Mesh Sand Toys Bag

Anytime you go on vacation with kids, you have to bring a ton of sand toys with you. We understand bringing sand back with you into your vacation rental is not necessary and can be quite a hassle. So, if you pack a mesh bag such as a laundry bag or a bag specifically for beach toys can help eliminate the mess. Just throw the sandy toys into the bag, give it a good shake or two and leave the sand behind at the beach.

Hats & Sunglasses

Packing sunglasses and hats are a must anytime you visit Myrtle Beach. The sun is much hotter than it is in the north, so we want to make sure that your eyes and face are protected. Having sunglasses will protect your eyes from the sun bright rays and will offer you some relief when trying to keep an eye on your little ones playing. Whether you have a floppy hot or a baseball cap, you will be happy that you brought these along with you. Don’t forget to pack one for everyone in the family.

Water Resistant Phone Pouch

Between the water, sun and sand, the beach is filled with many things that can damage your phone. Bringing a water-resistant pouch to the beach can be a lifesaver for many. If you come on vacation and realize you don’t have one, a sandwich bag or Ziploc bag will do the same as the phone pouch. They will keep your phone protected from the elements at the beach and you can even use it while it’s in the bag or pouch.

Baby Powder for Sand Removal

Baby powder may not seem like an item you would bring with you to the beach, but it’s a wonderful hack for anyone who is on vacation. Whether you are staying in a vacation rental or you decided to drive your car to the beach access, sand will be all over you when you leave the beach. So, bringing baby powder in your beach bag will magically get the sand off of your body without irritation and leave a nice scent too. This is perfect for everyone in the family and not just the kids.

Reading Material

One way that you can improve your tan and your mood is by bringing a book or magazine to the beach. We understand that bringing your children to the beach means less time to read a book, but maybe bring a few of their books too. This way when you are ready to read a little, have them come play in the sand near where you are or have them sit under the umbrella and read a little bit of their own book.

3 Easter Activities You Don’t Want to Miss

It’s hard to believe that Easter will be here in just a few short days, and if you’re looking for something to do, we have the perfect answer. Unlike last year, when many different activities and events were canceled, there are plenty of things to do this year. Staying with us at Myrtle Beach Resort will allow you and your family to be close to some of the fun happening in the area. Let’s look below at three different activities that you and your family can do this Easter Break!

Easter Egg Hunt in North Myrtle Beach

This year if you’re looking for a fun egg hunt to attend in the area, then head on over to McLean Park in North Myrtle Beach. Join in the fun on Saturday, April 3^rd, beginning at 10:00 am sharp, will be the 39^th Annual North Myrtle Beach Easter Egg Hunt. While they require that you and your family wear face masks, they will have several different groups separated by their ages. This year it is a bit extra, of course, compared to previous years, but this is only for the egg hunt, see the Easter Bunny and Friends and get a little candy. Think of the fun memories that you’ll make this Easter weekend here at the beach!

Let Them Paint

Do you have someone in the family who loves to paint or draw? If you do, then allow us to share with you a fun kids camp that is happening over at Painting with a Twist, located next to Beach Ford. This is an excellent way for the kids to meet new children and let their imaginations run wild. The day camp will begin at 9:00 am and will be painting a “zoo” themed Painting to take home as a souvenir to remember their trip by. Please be sure to register before the day to be sure to get into a seating. Also, pack for your camper a water bottle and lunch. The camps will be going on from Monday, April 5^th through Friday, April 9^th.

Meet the Easter Bunny

Another great activity and event happening this coming weekend are meeting the Easter Bunny over at Lulu’s at Barefoot Landing. Happening on Saturday and Sunday, April 3^rd & 4^th, bring the family over to not only meet the Easter Bunny but have photos taken too. After you’ve completed the Easter Bunny, head-on into Lulu’s for a great lunch and enjoy some extra treats, this event is happening from 11;00 am and ends at 2:00 pm. Bring the camera with you and take those pictures to capture the memories of Easter this year.

Celebrate New Year’s in Myrtle Beach

It’s hard to believe that 2020 will be coming to an end, but soon, it will be time to celebrate 2021 here on the Grand Strand. Beginning at 8:00 pm head on over to the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk where you will get to listen to some live music, food and fireworks to help ring in the New Year. There will be social distancing enforced and masks should be worn when in close proximity to other people. New Year’s Eve at Margaritaville

If you’re looking to grab a late dinner with the family on New Year’s Eve, then head on over to Margaritaville at Broadway at the Beach. Beginning at 6:00 pm is where your family can grab some delicious food from Margaritaville such as Seafood Mac & Cheese, Chicken Fajitas and we can’t forget the famous Cheeseburger in Paradise. There are plenty of options for the kids to choose from too which makes this restaurant a great place to eat at on this vacation. Located at Broadway at the Beach is where you will find this amazing adventure. If you have kids who are into doing new things that require them to climb as high as they can, then this is the thing for them. Not only can you and your family do a fun outdoors ropes challenge, but they can also enjoy some over the water zip lining. What a fun adventure that everyone in the family can enjoy together and bring home new memories.

New Adventures Down the River

Go on a new adventure while you are at the beach but instead of hitting the sand and surf, head a little inland for this one. River Island Adventure is located in North Myrtle Beach about 7 miles inland from the ocean. This can be for any family looking to try something new and exciting like floating in a tube down the Waccamaw River. If that doesn’t sound like fun, then join in their own “Survivor” fun with escaping the island. This is something that the older kids will love, and you will love too because it’s something fun for everyone!

Boogie Board

For any family who comes to vacation at the beach, they are always looking for new things to do with the kids. This is a classic thing that your kids can do together or with you, boogie boarding. Head to the store where you can pick up a boogie board or two to help make this activity happen.

Bubble Blowing

Who knew that blowing bubbles on the beach could be more fun than at home? Making your own bubbles or getting a bubble wand from the local dollar store will help keep the kids entertained. Watching the bubbles blow in the wind from the ocean is always fun and never gets old. This is a kid- friendly activity especially for the younger ones who want something to do while they are having a good time.

Beach Ball Potato

Have you ever played hot potato at home? If you have then this is just like that game only you use a beach ball. Be sure to bring a small radio or your smartphone loaded up with fun kid music. Start the music and pass the beach ball around in a circle and when the music stops, the kid holding the ball is out. This game is great for everyone and can be played on the sand or indoors, whatever works best for your family.

Sand Angels

Just like snow angels that can be made in the snow, your kids can make sand angels instead. This can be a fun activity that all kids will love as it means they can get messy. Have each child lay in the sand and make a jumping jack movement on the sand to make their angels. But we must warn you that your child will have sandy hair and bodies. Good news is that there is always the ocean to rinse all that sand off afterwards. What a great memory to make while on your next family vacation!

4 Things Your Family Can Enjoy this June in Myrtle Beach

June will be here in just a few short days and that means that summer will begin soon. When you and your family stay with us at Myrtle Beach Resort you will be close to where the fun is at. Myrtle Beach Pelicans Game

Baseball season is here and it means that you and the family can head to see the Myrtle Beach Pelicans play a game or two. Happening over at the Pelicans Ballpark is where you will find the stadium to see the local team play against many of the other teams such as the Wilmington Blue Rocks, the Fayetteville Woodpeckers and more. Tickets to see the games can cost as little as $9 per person and we can promise you that there is not a bad seat in the stadium. The Pelicans also have several promotions held weekly including Half Price admission with a Backpack Buddies donation and BOGO Hebrew National hotdogs because we know you can’t see a baseball game without getting at least a hotdog to snack on. Don’t miss the fun that you can have while seeing a great game cheering on the local team.

24^th Annual Corvettes Beach Car Show

If you have someone in the family who loves cars, then this event is for you. Join in on the fun at the 24^th Annual Corvettes Beach Car Show at Broadway at the Beach this year starting on Friday, May 31^st. This is a place where even the youngest child to the oldest child at heart will be able to see some beautiful muscle cars. The car show will be two days long, but you will be able to see which car is the best and which one you wish you had. The event is free for all who would like to attend and is something that you won’t want to miss every year.

See the Light Float

For something new that your family has never done before we suggest giving the Water Lantern Festival a try this year. Held at the Grand Park at the Market Common is where you will find this fun festival for everyone of all ages. This event does cost $25 per person but we promise you that it’s something you will never forget. Happening on Saturday, June 29th from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm, is where you and the family can design your own water lantern before setting sail on the lake for a beautiful display. Along with live entertainment and food trucks it will be a night to remember.

Grand Strand Nightly Fireworks

Many families have fond memories of going on vacation to the beach each year and getting to see the nightly fireworks. Don’t wait until the 4th of July to see them as you will be able to see them beginning in June. North Myrtle Beach is where you can head over to Barefoot Landing on Monday nights at 10:00 pm to see the amazing display in the sky. A few other places that you will be able to check out for fireworks are at Broadway at the Beach and at the Myrtle Beach Pelicans games.
