This year the City of Myrtle Beach is hosting the popular Myrtle Beach Food Truck Festival from April 1st to 3rd, 2022 in the Oceanfront Boardwalk District. This event is free to attend and will have several different food options that you can choose from. Some of the food trucks that you will be able to try are Time to Eat, Maggie Mae’s, Donut I Love U and EZ Cheezy. There will also be live entertainment for you to enjoy such as music and even a kid’s zone. Don’t miss this fun event as you can eat and have fun together as a family!

Easter Egg Hunt

If you have smaller children and you aren’t too interested in the Myrtle Beach Food Truck Festival, then bringing them to the Easter Egg Hunt may be better. Happening at McLean Park in North Myrtle Beach is where your family can enjoy collecting eggs in their baskets. There will be different areas for each age group starting from infants and up. The hunt will begin at 10:00 am on April 16th, 2022 and is free to attend. What a great day to spend with the family as you hunt for Easter eggs in the park.

Coming to the beach during Spring Break will always have different things to do but spending the day or more on the beach is what you’re looking for. Pack a lunch, grab the beach chairs & umbrella and go down and find your spot. Let the kids play in the sand making sandcastles, digging holes or hunting for shells is what vacation is about. Landshark Bar & Grill

Family Kingdom is a short 10 minute drive and has been open since 1966. The Funplex Myrtle Beach just opened up a few weeks ago and is a short 15 minute drive. Both of these parks offers rides for all ages and is perfect for a day or evening at the park. After a fun filled day riding thrill rides and family fun rides, head back to our resort and relax a little in the A/C. Think of the fun your family will have checking both of these amusement parks out this summer!

What to Pack in your Beach Bag

Do you have a spring break vacation planned to Myrtle Beach this year? If the answer is yes, then we understand that spending the week sitting on the beach soaking up the rays is just what you need. Staying in one of our Two-Bedroom vacation rentals will keep you close to the beach but having the right things in your beach bag will allow you to enjoy your vacation. We have compiled a small list of what to pack in your beach bag for your next vacation to Myrtle Beach below.

Beach Bag Contents

Beach Towels

When you are on vacation making sure you have packed everything before you leave home is essential. So be sure to pack a towel for everyone in your family whether you are going to sit in the sun or swim in the ocean. Bringing an extra towel with you is always a good idea especially if you have little ones with you. Having a beach towel with a different design can help each member in your group remember which one theirs is. Sewing one corner of the towel can allow you to have a little pocket so that you can place a phone or glasses in them to keep them from the sand.

Sunscreen

With the hot, southern sun sunscreen is a must for any beach bag. Use a sunscreen that is designed for your beach activities such as waterproof, sport, high SPF, etc.). Dermatologists suggests that you use a sunscreen with at least 30 SPF while you are enjoying the sunshine. And don’t forget to Reapply throughout your day as we don’t want you to ruin your vacation the very first day your here with a sunburn. Having a bottle of aloe that you can put into the fridge will help make the sunburns cool and feel refreshing in case someone in the family does get a little too much sun one day.

Mesh Sand Toys Bag

Anytime you go on vacation with kids, you have to bring a ton of sand toys with you. We understand bringing sand back with you into your vacation rental is not necessary and can be quite a hassle. So, if you pack a mesh bag such as a laundry bag or a bag specifically for beach toys can help eliminate the mess. Just throw the sandy toys into the bag, give it a good shake or two and leave the sand behind at the beach.

Hats & Sunglasses

Packing sunglasses and hats are a must anytime you visit Myrtle Beach. The sun is much hotter than it is in the north, so we want to make sure that your eyes and face are protected. Having sunglasses will protect your eyes from the sun bright rays and will offer you some relief when trying to keep an eye on your little ones playing. Whether you have a floppy hot or a baseball cap, you will be happy that you brought these along with you. Don’t forget to pack one for everyone in the family.

Water Resistant Phone Pouch

Between the water, sun and sand, the beach is filled with many things that can damage your phone. Bringing a water-resistant pouch to the beach can be a lifesaver for many. If you come on vacation and realize you don’t have one, a sandwich bag or Ziploc bag will do the same as the phone pouch. They will keep your phone protected from the elements at the beach and you can even use it while it’s in the bag or pouch.

Baby Powder for Sand Removal

Baby powder may not seem like an item you would bring with you to the beach, but it’s a wonderful hack for anyone who is on vacation. Whether you are staying in a vacation rental or you decided to drive your car to the beach access, sand will be all over you when you leave the beach. So, bringing baby powder in your beach bag will magically get the sand off of your body without irritation and leave a nice scent too. This is perfect for everyone in the family and not just the kids.

Reading Material

One way that you can improve your tan and your mood is by bringing a book or magazine to the beach. We understand that bringing your children to the beach means less time to read a book, but maybe bring a few of their books too. 3 Easter Activities You Don’t Want to Miss

It’s hard to believe that Easter will be here in just a few short days, and if you’re looking for something to do, we have the perfect answer. Unlike last year, when many different activities and events were canceled, there are plenty of things to do this year. Let’s look below at three different activities that you and your family can do this Easter Break!

Easter Egg Hunt in North Myrtle Beach

This year if you’re looking for a fun egg hunt to attend in the area, then head on over to McLean Park in North Myrtle Beach. Join in the fun on Saturday, April 3^rd, beginning at 10:00 am sharp, will be the 39^th Annual North Myrtle Beach Easter Egg Hunt. While they require that you and your family wear face masks, they will have several different groups separated by their ages. This year it is a bit extra, of course, compared to previous years, but this is only for the egg hunt, see the Easter Bunny and Friends and get a little candy. Think of the fun memories that you’ll make this Easter weekend here at the beach!

Let Them Paint

Do you have someone in the family who loves to paint or draw? If you do, then allow us to share with you a fun kids camp that is happening over at Painting with a Twist, located next to Beach Ford. This is an excellent way for the kids to meet new children and let their imaginations run wild. The day camp will begin at 9:00 am and will be painting a “zoo” themed Painting to take home as a souvenir to remember their trip by. Please be sure to register before the day to be sure to get into a seating. Also, pack for your camper a water bottle and lunch. The camps will be going on from Monday, April 5^th through Friday, April 9^th.

Meet the Easter Bunny

Another great activity and event happening this coming weekend are meeting the Easter Bunny over at Lulu’s at Barefoot Landing. Happening on Saturday and Sunday, April 3^rd & 4^th, bring the family over to not only meet the Easter Bunny but have photos taken too. After you’ve completed the Easter Bunny, head-on into Lulu’s for a great lunch and enjoy some extra treats, this event is happening from 11;00 am and ends at 2:00 pm. Bring the camera with you and take those pictures to capture the memories of Easter this year.

If you have kids who are into doing new things that require them to climb as high as they can, then this is the thing for them. Not only can you and your family do a fun outdoors ropes challenge, but they can also enjoy some over the water zip lining. What a fun adventure that everyone in the family can enjoy together and bring home new memories.

New Adventures Down the River

Go on a new adventure while you are at the beach but instead of hitting the sand and surf, head a little inland for this one. River Island Adventure is located in North Myrtle Beach about 7 miles inland from the ocean. This can be for any family looking to try something new and exciting like floating in a tube down the Waccamaw River. If that doesn’t sound like fun, then join in their own “Survivor” fun with escaping the island. This is something that the older kids will love, and you will love too because it’s something fun for everyone!
