Celebrate New Year’s in Myrtle Beach

It’s hard to believe that 2020 will be coming to an end, but soon, it will be time to celebrate 2021 here on the Grand Strand. Staying with us at Myrtle Beach Resort will allow you and your family to be close to the fun. We know that 2020 has been different from previous years when it comes to vacations, but we feel that 2021 will be better. Let’s look below at where you and the family can head to this New Year’s Eve on the Grand Strand for some fun.

Ring in the New Year at the Boardwalk

Come and celebrate New Year’s Eve at the Boardwalk with the family this year. This will be a family-friendly outdoor event that everyone in the family will love and enjoy. Beginning at 8:00 pm head on over to the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk where you will get to listen to some live music, food and fireworks to help ring in the New Year. There will be social distancing enforced and masks should be worn when in close proximity to other people. Think of the fun your family will have as you make new memories while you ring in the new year together.

New Year’s Eve at Margaritaville

If you’re looking to grab a late dinner with the family on New Year’s Eve, then head on over to Margaritaville at Broadway at the Beach. Beginning at 6:00 pm is where your family can grab some delicious food from Margaritaville such as Seafood Mac & Cheese, Chicken Fajitas and we can’t forget the famous Cheeseburger in Paradise. There are plenty of options for the kids to choose from too which makes this restaurant a great place to eat at on this vacation. You and the family will be able to enjoy some live music, fun party favors and more. There is admission cost to enjoy the party with your family!

They will be opening up at 11:30 am and will be featuring turkey, ham, prime rib and much more including seafood. Many other restaurants are open on Christmas Day that you will be able to enjoy with the family.

Show on the Grand Strand

One of the fun things that you can do with the family is head over to one of the many shows in town. Pirates Voyage is a great place to enjoy because the food you get is absolutely amazing and the show is awesome. Another location you can enjoy is Medieval Times where you can see jousting and much more with the show. The Alabama Theatre and Carolina Opry are just a few more shows that you can see during the holidays.

Labor Day is the unofficial end of summer but that doesn’t mean that you have to end it by not taking a getaway together. Many families love to take one last vacation before the kids have to go back to school and what a better place than to be at the beach. What’s a better way to start out your Labor Day weekend than to have a little friendly family race together on the go-kart track. Over at Broadway Grand Prix Family Race Park to try out the 7 different go-kart tracks. Depending on what you’re looking to do there is a track that everyone in the family will enjoy. And if go-karts are not your thing don’t worry because there are other attractions there for your family to do. From mini golf to the bumper cars you won’t hear “we’re bored” from the kids!

Explore & Soar Like the Wind

One way to make sure that your family can enjoy a fun adventure while on vacation during Labor Day would be to head over to Explore & Soar. Located at Broadway at the Beach is where you will find this amazing adventure. If you have kids who are into doing new things that require them to climb as high as they can, then this is the thing for them. Not only can you and your family do a fun outdoors ropes challenge, but they can also enjoy some over the water zip lining. What a fun adventure that everyone in the family can enjoy together and bring home new memories.

New Adventures Down the River

Go on a new adventure while you are at the beach but instead of hitting the sand and surf, head a little inland for this one. River Island Adventure is located in North Myrtle Beach about 7 miles inland from the ocean. This can be for any family looking to try something new and exciting like floating in a tube down the Waccamaw River. If that doesn’t sound like fun, then join in their own “Survivor” fun with escaping the island. This is something that the older kids will love, and you will love too because it’s something fun for everyone!

Boogie Board

For any family who comes to vacation at the beach, they are always looking for new things to do with the kids. This is a classic thing that your kids can do together or with you, boogie boarding. Head to the store where you can pick up a boogie board or two to help make this activity happen.

Bubble Blowing

Who knew that blowing bubbles on the beach could be more fun than at home? Making your own bubbles or getting a bubble wand from the local dollar store will help keep the kids entertained. Watching the bubbles blow in the wind from the ocean is always fun and never gets old. This is a kid- friendly activity especially for the younger ones who want something to do while they are having a good time.

Beach Ball Potato

Have you ever played hot potato at home? If you have then this is just like that game only you use a beach ball. Be sure to bring a small radio or your smartphone loaded up with fun kid music. Start the music and pass the beach ball around in a circle and when the music stops, the kid holding the ball is out. This game is great for everyone and can be played on the sand or indoors, whatever works best for your family.

Sand Angels

Just like snow angels that can be made in the snow, your kids can make sand angels instead. This can be a fun activity that all kids will love as it means they can get messy. Have each child lay in the sand and make a jumping jack movement on the sand to make their angels. But we must warn you that your child will have sandy hair and bodies. Good news is that there is always the ocean to rinse all that sand off afterwards. What a great memory to make while on your next family vacation!

Don’t Miss These Fun Easter Activities in Myrtle Beach

Are you and your family vacationing in Myrtle Beach for Easter this year? Easter is just a few days away and we know where some of the best activities are in the area. Easter Fun at Bass Pro Shops

If you are looking for a little indoor fun to do with the kids, then head over to Bass Pro Shops for their Easter fun. On Saturday, April 20^th from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm for a fun family Easter event. When you first come into the Bass Pro Shops you will be able to take a picture with the Easter Bunny and receive a free photo. Your kids can do an Easter craft in the store and there will be an egg hunt in the store from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Registration for the egg hunt will begin at 1:30 pm. Don’t miss this fun event at Bass Pro Shops with the kids for a family fun day!

37^th Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Don’t miss the 37^th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at McLean Park in North Myrtle Beach is something for everyone to enjoy. Starting at 10:00 am the family can hunt for eggs throughout the park and it’s a free event to join in. Those who want to participate in the egg hunt will be divided into different age groups from infant and up. The Easter Bunny will be taking pictures with everyone and will be handing out candy to all the kids. Bring your camera to capture the moments that will happen at this event!

Let’s Go to the Fair

Come celebrate Easter at the Myrtle Beach Speedway for their 4^th Annual Horry County Fair. On Sunday, April 21^st from noon to 11:00 pm is where you and the family can enjoy a fun county fair. Admission to the event is $5 per person and children 4 & under are free. Here you and your family will be able to enjoy an Easter Service, as well as carnival rides, games and so much more. There will be a petting zoo and let’s not forget about the pig racing. And if you can’t make it to the fair on Easter, then have no fear as it will be going on until the 26^th. This can be a fun family day spending it out and about on the town for some Easter Fun.
