Head over to Broadway at the Beach beginning on June 2^nd to experience Illumination Park: An Art Experience at The Hangout. Located at The Hangout Restaurant is where you’ll find this incredible experience. It will feature exhibits that include positive energy, creativity, and something you’ve never seen before. This is free for all to experience, and we promise you that it’s something you’ll talk about for years to come.

1229 Shine

The 1229 Shine Restaurant is in Myrtle Beach’s Market Commons area. This new restaurant has made its way into our hearts and stomachs here on the Grand Strand. Some of the items you’ll find on the menu are Calamari Rings, Fry Basket, Grilled Oysters, Cobb Salad, etc. They also have a good size gluten-free menu for those who have dietary restrictions. Don’t miss this new restaurant to try out on your summer vacation.

Winna’s Kitchen

Another new restaurant opened in Myrtle Beach is Winna’s Kitchen. This is in the heart of downtown Myrtle Beach, close to the boardwalk, and is one that many locals are talking about. Some of the food you can find on the menu are Cast Iron Omelet, The Castle Salad, Caprese Toast, and we can’t forget the southern classic, Shrimp & Grits. They also have a special “Chef’s Menu” offered with the course and drink pairings. Think of the delicious food you’ll get to experience in Myrtle Beach.

Salt Life Outlet

If you have someone in the family who loves Salt Life clothing, then you’re in luck. Salt Life Outlet has recently opened at the Tanger Outlets on Highway 17 in Myrtle Beach. Here you’ll be able to grab shirts, sunglasses, decals, and more. You can choose from fishing, surfing, diving, or just being a beach bum. This outlet would make the perfect stop for that special someone in your life who loves all things beach life.

3 New Restaurants to Try in Myrtle Beach

Are you going on vacation to Myrtle Beach this year, and you’re looking for some new places to try? Then look no further as we wanted to share with you three new restaurants to try in the area. We know that when you’re on vacation, you may not want to cook every night in your Myrtle Beach vacation rental. Grand Strand Brewing Company

If you’re in the mood for some great food, outstanding drinks, and entertainment for the whole family, then this is the place. The Grand Strand Brewing Company is located in Downtown Myrtle Beach and easy to find. They are family-friendly, which is excellent as they have outdoor space for the kids to dance and play games. They also have some pretty incredible things on the menu, such as their smoked brisket sandwich, chicken tenders, and we can’t forget the cheese fries. Don’t miss this fun place to enjoy some laughter, food, and fun with the family.

Landshark Bar & Grill

While Landshark Bar & Grill isn’t new to the Myrtle Beach Area, they have opened up a 2^nd location. Located at Barefoot Landing is where you’ll find their indoor & outdoor seating, live music, and outdoor stage. Bring the family for an early dinner and enjoy some local favorites like fried pickles, fish tacos, and coconut shrimp. They also have a menu for the little ones in the family like a hot dog, cheeseburger, chicken tenders, and fried shrimp. And before you head off to do a little shopping while you’re at Barefoot Landing, enjoy a little dessert.

Byrd’s Famous Cookies

While Byrd’s Famous Cookies isn’t an actual restaurant, we still thought we’d mention it to you. Located at Broadway at the Beach is where you’ll find tasty treats for the family. Some of the items they offer are Cupcake Cookie, Almond Shortbread Cookies, and Georgia Peach Cookies. The good thing about this location is that they offer gluten-free options, such as Chocolate Chip Cookies and Key Lime Coolers. Don’t forget to take home some gifts with you from this tasty location!

For many families, heading to the boardwalk in Myrtle Beach is a tradition that they can’t miss. The Myrtle Beach boardwalk has many different things that will make families want to return every year from shopping to rides. Allow the kids to enjoy the Fun Plaza Arcade as you are strolling along the boardwalk. Eat at a few new places that you may have never given a try or let the kids do a few thrill rides. There is something for everyone on the boardwalk at the beach!

Aye-Aye Captain

Another fun activity that many families enjoy is heading over to Pirates Voyage and enjoying the show together. This is a dinner show that is one of the grand strands favorite to visit. Located next to The Carolina Opry and is one that you don’t want to miss. They entertain along with a 4-course meal that is to die for. Chant and cheer along as they show you how pirates are, and it’s a great show with many stunts. Pirates Voyage will be opening beginning on July 15^th, 2020. Is that a Shark?

If you’re looking for an adventure to do on a rainy day, then head on over to Broadway at the Beach. Here you will find Ripley’s Aquarium where you and the family can spend the day. This is one of the best aquariums on the coast of South Carolina and is one that many families love to visit. From seeing sharks, to under the reef to seeing countless fishes in all species, it’s something for everyone. We promise that you will want to visit more than once on your next trip to Myrtle Beach Resort.

Fun Amusement Parks

Myrtle Beach is a great place to get the best of both worlds, with the beach and amusement parks. There are now two that are located on the Grand Strand and just a short drive from our resort. Family Kingdom is a short 10 minute drive and has been open since 1966. The Funplex Myrtle Beach just opened up a few weeks ago and is a short 15 minute drive. Both of these parks offers rides for all ages and is perfect for a day or evening at the park. After a fun filled day riding thrill rides and family fun rides, head back to our resort and relax a little in the A/C. Think of the fun your family will have checking both of these amusement parks out this summer!

Visit Museums

The museum selections that are available in Myrtle Beach will surprise you no doubt. And many of the museums are all family friendly and great for kids of all ages. The Hollywood Wax Museum where you can “meet” wax celebrities or go through the mirror maze and then do the zombie-themed adventure towards the end of the tour is something fun for everyone. Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum is something like other that you may have seen. It includes many different things that you may have never known existed included weird and unusual facts, exhibits and stories. WonderWorks is another museum that you may have never experienced before. This is more like an amusement park in itself and is fun to experience. There are several different hands-on activities, rides and exhibits that your family can take part in such as laying on a bed of nails and more. This could take you and your family all day to go through and experience such a fun thing to do for a day together.

Miniature Golf Anyone?

Many people these days can remember vacationing at the beach and heading over to do a night or two of miniature golf with their family. So, why not start this as a tradition with your family on each vacation you take to Myrtle Beach? There are plenty of miniature golf places around Myrtle Beach whether it’s in North or South, you will find a mini-golf place. But pick a few places to try before trying to figure out if it’s the new “family” mini-golf course you want to visit every trip. And you may find that some of your family members will be very competitive too which can be fun for everyone. But just go out and enjoy the day or the evening with your loved ones.

Eat

We have to say that anytime you go on vacation, it’s always nice to eat out for a few days. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner there is something for everyone in Myrtle Beach. Of course, there are plenty of chain restaurants for you to try, but why not try a few that you may not have thought about. Carolina Roadhouse is a wonderful restaurant that you can eat at that not only has amazing food, but whenever you order a salad, it will come with a glazed croissant that is to die for. Another local favorite would have to be Tupelo Honey which has excellent food choices for everyone in the family. And let’s not forget about the amazing seafood restaurants that you will find in the area. None of these restaurants will disappoint and we even have some dining options at Myrtle Beach Resort for you to enjoy.

Broadway Grand Prix

If you and your family have been looking to do a little something more adventurous, then we suggest heading over to Broadway Grand Prix for a night. Here you will be able to take advantage of racing each other in a round or two of go kart. And we understand that if you have younger children in your family they will want to feel included too in the fun. So, have no fear as there are several things for them to take part in too such as the carousel, kiddie speedway, pro tow and their very own sky wheel. There is also bumper calls for the whole family to enjoy, an arcade, mini-golf and rock climbing wall. So many different activities for everyone to take part in while they are on vacation!

Labor Day is the unofficial end of summer but that doesn’t mean that you have to end it by not taking a getaway together. Many families love to take one last vacation before the kids have to go back to school and what a better place than to be at the beach. It’s a Race

What’s a better way to start out your Labor Day weekend than to have a little friendly family race together on the go-kart track. Over at Broadway Grand Prix Family Race Park to try out the 7 different go-kart tracks. Depending on what you’re looking to do there is a track that everyone in the family will enjoy. And if go-karts are not your thing don’t worry because there are other attractions there for your family to do. From mini golf to the bumper cars you won’t hear “we’re bored” from the kids!

Explore & Soar Like the Wind

One way to make sure that your family can enjoy a fun adventure while on vacation during Labor Day would be to head over to Explore & Soar. Located at Broadway at the Beach is where you will find this amazing adventure. If you have kids who are into doing new things that require them to climb as high as they can, then this is the thing for them. Not only can you and your family do a fun outdoors ropes challenge, but they can also enjoy some over the water zip lining. What a fun adventure that everyone in the family can enjoy together and bring home new memories.

New Adventures Down the River

Go on a new adventure while you are at the beach but instead of hitting the sand and surf, head a little inland for this one. River Island Adventure is located in North Myrtle Beach about 7 miles inland from the ocean. This can be for any family looking to try something new and exciting like floating in a tube down the Waccamaw River. If that doesn’t sound like fun, then join in their own “Survivor” fun with escaping the island. This is something that the older kids will love, and you will love too because it’s something fun for everyone!

4 Kid-Friendly Beach Activities for your Next Vacation

Boogie Board

For any family who comes to vacation at the beach, they are always looking for new things to do with the kids. This is a classic thing that your kids can do together or with you, boogie boarding. Head to the store where you can pick up a boogie board or two to help make this activity happen.

Bubble Blowing

Who knew that blowing bubbles on the beach could be more fun than at home? Making your own bubbles or getting a bubble wand from the local dollar store will help keep the kids entertained. Watching the bubbles blow in the wind from the ocean is always fun and never gets old. This is a kid- friendly activity especially for the younger ones who want something to do while they are having a good time.

Beach Ball Potato

Have you ever played hot potato at home? If you have then this is just like that game only you use a beach ball. Be sure to bring a small radio or your smartphone loaded up with fun kid music. Start the music and pass the beach ball around in a circle and when the music stops, the kid holding the ball is out. This game is great for everyone and can be played on the sand or indoors, whatever works best for your family.

Sand Angels

Just like snow angels that can be made in the snow, your kids can make sand angels instead. This can be a fun activity that all kids will love as it means they can get messy. Have each child lay in the sand and make a jumping jack movement on the sand to make their angels. But we must warn you that your child will have sandy hair and bodies. Good news is that there is always the ocean to rinse all that sand off afterwards. What a great memory to make while on your next family vacation!

4 Things Your Family Can Enjoy this June in Myrtle Beach

June will be here in just a few short days and that means that summer will begin soon. When you and your family stay with us at Myrtle Beach Resort you will be close to where the fun is at. From spending the week on the beach to spending the nights out on the town, there is something for everyone in the family to enjoy. Let’s take a look at what fun things you and your family can enjoy while on vacation here in Myrtle Beach this June.

Myrtle Beach Pelicans Game

Baseball season is here and it means that you and the family can head to see the Myrtle Beach Pelicans play a game or two. Happening over at the Pelicans Ballpark is where you will find the stadium to see the local team play against many of the other teams such as the Wilmington Blue Rocks, the Fayetteville Woodpeckers and more. Tickets to see the games can cost as little as $9 per person and we can promise you that there is not a bad seat in the stadium. The Pelicans also have several promotions held weekly including Half Price admission with a Backpack Buddies donation and BOGO Hebrew National hotdogs because we know you can’t see a baseball game without getting at least a hotdog to snack on. Don’t miss the fun that you can have while seeing a great game cheering on the local team.

24^th Annual Corvettes Beach Car Show

If you have someone in the family who loves cars, then this event is for you. Join in on the fun at the 24^th Annual Corvettes Beach Car Show at Broadway at the Beach this year starting on Friday, May 31^st. This is a place where even the youngest child to the oldest child at heart will be able to see some beautiful muscle cars. The car show will be two days long, but you will be able to see which car is the best and which one you wish you had. The event is free for all who would like to attend and is something that you won’t want to miss every year.

See the Light Float

For something new that your family has never done before we suggest giving the Water Lantern Festival a try this year. Held at the Grand Park at the Market Common is where you will find this fun festival for everyone of all ages. This event does cost $25 per person but we promise you that it’s something you will never forget. Happening on Saturday, June 29th from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm, is where you and the family can design your own water lantern before setting sail on the lake for a beautiful display. Along with live entertainment and food trucks it will be a night to remember.

Grand Strand Nightly Fireworks

Many families have fond memories of going on vacation to the beach each year and getting to see the nightly fireworks. Don’t wait until the 4th of July to see them as you will be able to see them beginning in June. North Myrtle Beach is where you can head over to Barefoot Landing on Monday nights at 10:00 pm to see the amazing display in the sky. A few other places that you will be able to check out for fireworks are at Broadway at the Beach and at the Myrtle Beach Pelicans games. Be sure to check them out on your next family vacation to the beach.

Fresh Brewed Coffee House

If you are searching for a new coffee house, you have never experienced before then Fresh Brewed Coffee House is a must visit on your next vacation. Fishing in Myrtle Beach This Fall

Enjoy some endless family-friendly fun when you come visit Myrtle Beach. From swimming to golf, you will find countless ways to enjoy your fall vacation. One of the most popular activities around here happens to be fishing. And of course, while staying in one of our oceanfront condo vacation rentals, you will be close to several different fishing piers. We know that some of the most relaxing fishing can be done on one of the local piers. Below are our picks for the Myrtle Beach fishing piers.

Cherry Grove Pier

Cherry Grove Pier is a wonderful pier to start fishing at if you have never done so before. Many visitors come to the quaint town of Cherry Grove, SC and was built in the 1950’s. This pier has been family owned since 1965 and many have considered this as an iconic landmark. If you are coming to try out fishing but don’t have any fishing gear, have no fear. Cherry Grove Pier will allow you to rent fishing rods and you can get your fishing license here too. It costs $24 all day to rent a rod with a $30 deposit on it. It will cost you $16 for after 3 pm. And if you don’t feel the need to fish, you can walk the pier for $3. If you bring your own rod then it will be $3 for admission and $7.50 for each rod. They also carry fishing bait and a full line tackle shop as well.

Pier 14

Fishing in Myrtle Beach This Fall

Pier 14 has been around since the 1920’s and many still call it 14th Avenue Pier. It is known to many locals as the historic pier and has the famous Pier 14 restaurant there. The restaurant has been known to many visitors as one of the best restaurants in Myrtle Beach. You can come and rent fishing poles again where it costs $8 plus a $20 refundable deposit. If you are looking to fish with your own gear, then it costs $7 for the fishing pass and $2 for an additional pole. Please note that they do have a pole limit per person so you can only use 2 poles per person. 14th Avenue Pier also has bait in their shop so you are able to grab squid, shrimp, mullet and finger mullet for your fishing trip. They are open from 7 am to 11 pm so don’t miss out on the fun!

Fishing in Myrtle Beach This Fall

While there are other fishing piers that you can visit in the Myrtle Beach area, we just thought these two were a good option for you. And if fishing off a pier isn’t for you then how about try out a Deep-Sea fishing experience.
