Special Seasonal Events Around Myrtle Beach

Everyone knows there are a lot of things to see and do in the Myrtle Beach area. You could probably keep yourself busy with all the shopping, over 110 golf courses, and the 2,000 places to eat, but some of the best things that are here to experience are the special seasonal events in and around Myrtle Beach this time of year.

If you want an Outdoor Adventure, head down to Huntington Beach State Park and meet up with a ranger for a guided tour on the Sandpiper Pond Nature Trail. Along the way, explore a maritime forest, sand dunes, and freshwater and salt marshes. After a rest stop at the Nature Center, head back along the beach. Total of 2-1/2 miles. (2 hrs.) Bring a water bottle and wear close-toed shoes. Meet at the North Beach (= Jetty) parking lot. This outdoor adventure takes place every Friday through April and May at 4 p.m. You’ll be able to explore the maritime forest, sand dunes, freshwater and salt marshes, and of course, the beach. Meet at the North Beach parking lot.

The Relay for Life sponsored by the American Cancer Society is taking place at Broadway at the Beach on April 18 at 1 p.m. Join the efforts to end cancer by walking, jogging or running in this Relay for Life Event. Another Relay for Life event will be held on Saturday, May 2 starting at 10 a.m. at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach.

The Carmike Theater at Broadway at the Beach will host the annual Myrtle Beach Film Festival from Wednesday, April 22 through Saturday, April 25. This event features some of the best up-and-coming film makers in the country.

Special Seasonal Events Around Myrtle Beach
The March of Dimes Walk is a march for babies. This walk takes place on Saturday, May 2 from 8:30 a.m. until noon at Pelican’s Stadium. This fundraiser walk is designed to help raise money for families in need. Registration will ensue at 8:30 a.m. on May 2.

Come run in the annual Burro Loco Stache Dash! This is a run along a 5K trail where you will see mustaches and sombreros! Dress up for Cinco De Mayo for this fun race! The race begins at 9:30 a.m. on May 2 with sign-in starting at 8 a.m. Registration $30 after April 1 and includes a mustache, event shirt, and free beer for those of drinking age.

Get your summer started in North Myrtle Beach during the month of May. On Saturday, May 9, the 10th Annual Mayfest on Main Festival will feature fun for all ages! Bring your beach chair or blanket if you plan on enjoying the live entertainment and get ready for a fun-filled day! During the event you can shop in the downtown shops and enjoy the festival events with the entire family. There will be a kids’ area, stage, performers, arts and crafts and tasty eats all day long! Location is Hillside Dr. to Ocean Blvd. on Main Street, North Myrtle Beach.

The 32nd Annual World Famous Blue Crab Festival in Little River is May 16-17, 2015 starting at 9 a.m. on the waterfront in Little River, SC. There will be about 200 fine arts and crafts vendors, unique food vendors, awesome live entertainment and a wonderful children’s area. Admission: 1 Day Advance Ticket $4.00, 2 Day Advance Ticket $8.00, and General Gate Admission $5.00 per day.
