 The Sun Fun Festival started in 1951 & holds the title of the longest running event in Myrtle Beach. It originally served as the official kickoff of the summer season, but now that Myrtle Beach is a year-round tourist destination, the traditional Sun Fun Festival offers four-days of non-stop fun along with a host of events all summer long.
Sun Fun Festival staples include live entertainment, professional sporting events, fireworks, food and arts/crafts vendors, celebrity meet-and-greets, concerts and a kid's zone.
There's also the crowning of Miss Sun Fun & Miss Sun Fun Teen.
Each year the Myrtle Beach Sun Fun Festival offers something new. Past festivals included: a parade, classic car show, bikini contest, 5K run, beach party, air show, world record sand castle building contest, cooking competition & more.
