Grand Strand Art Events

 

 

The Art in the Park show has been held in Chapin Park for over thirty years. This show gives artists of all mediums an opportunity to display and sell their work.

All work at the Art in the Park show has to be original and created by the displaying artist without the benefit of purchased molds or kits. Admission and parking are free.

The Burroughs and Chapin Art Museum - Aside from being a place to enjoy art from across the country as well as exhibitions by local renowned artists the Burroughs and Chapin Art museum is home to three cultural events each year.

The Atalaya Arts and Crafts Festival has been going on for over thirty years. This festival features over one hundred fine artisans from across the country and is held in the beautiful Atalaya Castle against the backdrop of the Atlantic Coastline.

To be enjoyed are arts, crafts and tasty lowcountry food. The areas best musicians provide a festive highlight to this delightful day.

The Georgetown Harborwalk festival draws vendors and visitors to Georgetown annually. The events range from boat tours to art exhibits and a street dance until midnight with live music.

Each year a local artist produces a poster to advertise the festival and over the years these posters have become collectors items.

This event was originated to help with the cost of building the Harborwalk, which runs along Harbor in Georgetown. After the work was finished the event had grown so popular that it is still a happening event.

During the first Saturday of every month the city of Conway offers a First Saturday Art Walk. When you visit the historical city of Conway you will have an opportunity to join in the fun as galleries in the area feature art exhibits, receptions, and art demonstrations.

One noted demonstration is glass blowing, which has become very popular at the Conway Art Walks. Not only is this the place to see fine art and crafts by local artists, which the Grand Strand is noted for, there is also work to be seen by international artists as well.

Also in Conway, the Rivertown Jazz and Arts Festival a celebrated arts event takes place in historic downtown Conway SC. Come to Conway an easy drive down highway 544 from the Myrtle Beach Resort to enjoy a day long Jazz music festival. There is a juried art show and great food throughout the day.
