Formerly known as the Dupont Coolmax® World Amateur
Handicap Championship, this year the tournament has a new
sponsor and a new name, the PGA Tour Superstore World Amateur
Handicap Championship. The World Amateur Handicap Championship,
the world's largest amateur golf tournament, will be held
Aug 27 - Sep 1, 2007. Celebrating its 24th year, the tournament
will draw over 5,000 golfers competing for $400,000 in prizes
and the title of "World Champion". The 4 day competition
will be played on 75 championship golf courses in Myrtle
Beach, SC. The winner of each flight will compete the 5th
day at the TPC of Myrtle Beach in the championship round.
Competitors gather nightly for the "World's Largest
19th Hole" party. There they can check the leader boards
and enjoy food, drinks, contests, golf company exhibits,
and much more.
